UPDATE ON EMERGENCY LOCAL FOOD ASSISTANCE
When our community faces unprecedented levels of hunger, we root down and rise up to support each other.
Starting November 1st, Farmers Market Fund offered temporary emergency local food assistance for all Oregon Trail Card holders, regardless of existing SNAP benefits. This initial emergency local food assistance was offered until all Oregon November SNAP benefits were restored or November 30th whichever is first. On Friday, November 7th ALL Oregon November SNAP benefits were restored,
As of Friday, November 7, Oregon November SNAP benefits have been loaded on all Oregon Trail, regardless of when people might normally get them, regardless of when people might normally get them.
Farmers Market Fund will continue to offer a $20 match of Double Up Food Bucks for $1 of SNAP benefits at participating farmers markets until November 30th.
How it Works:
FARMERS MARKETS
- Bring your Oregon Trail Card to a Emergency Double Up participating farmers market
- The market will swipe your Oregon Trail Card for $1. We will then match your $1 with $20 of Emergency Double Up Food Bucks to spend on fruits and veggies including dried beans, mushrooms, and fresh herbs at the market
- There is a $20 cap in Double Up Food Bucks per market visit. Customers may choose to spend more than $1 in SNAP but will not receive additional Double Up match beyond the $20.
FARM STANDS
Emergency Double Up Food Bucks at farm stands will end this weekend. The last day to participate in Emergency Double Up at farm stands is Sunday, November 9th. Shoppers who pay with SNAP are still able to participate in Double Up Food Bucks at farm stands receiving 50% off purchase off fruits and vegetables including dried beans, mushrooms, and fresh herbs at participating markets.

- Show your Oregon Trail Card to the cashier
- Take home up to $20 worth of produce per visit
- If you have SNAP benefits on your card you can still shop as normal and receive a 50% discount on eligible items on top of the $20 match.

Since Oregon November SNAP benefits are restored, is Farmers Market Fund still offering emergency local food assistance?
Farmers Marekt Fund will continue to match $1 in SNAP benefits with $20 of Emergency Double Up Food Bucks until November 30th. Shoppers will need to have at least $1 on their SNAP benefits on their Oregon Trail Card.
Can I still use the Emergency Doub Food Bucks expire?
All market Food Bucks expire at the end of the year, regardless of when you receievd them. Some farmers markets and farm stands close before the end of the year. When planning your visit, confirm hours of operations before visiting.
Is there a limit to the amount of Emergency Double Food Bucks benefits I can receive?
Participants can receive up to $20 per market visit or farm stand visit.
What can I buy with Emergency Double Up Food Bucks?
Fresh, frozen, and dried fruits and vegetables including dried beans, mushrooms, fresh herbs, and veggie plant starts are eligible to buy with Emergency Double Up Food Bucks.
Can I still spend my existing market Food Bucks currency?
Yes, you can still spend your Food Bucks currency at participating farmers markets.
Can I spend Food Bucks at farm stands?
Market Food Bucks currencies can NOT be spent at farm stands. To participate in Emergency Double Up Food Bucks at farm stands, bring your Oregon Trail Card to the farm stand.
DOUBLE UP FOOD BUCKS AT GROCERY STORES

DOUBLE UP FOOD BUCKS AT CSAs
For those already signed up for a Double Up Food Bucks CSA, their Oregon Trail Card card will be charged as normal. If there is not enough funds on their Oregon Trail Card, the remaining balance will roll over and the shopper will be charged for the difference in December.
