Eating seasonally is fun and easy! Oregon’s climate allows for a year-round growing season in many parts of the state. Oregonians have plenty of delicious options available at any time of the year.

These slides are meant to give you an idea of what you might be able to find in a given month at your local farmers market, CSA, or local grocer. Actual availability may vary by location. Our small farmers are at the whim of mother nature, and unusual weather patterns may impact seasonal availability unexpectedly! If you are looking for something specific, reach out to your local market, CSA, or grocer to ask them what to expect when you visit.

You are very likely to find hearty greens like kale, chard, and collards, cabbage, and root veggies like carrots, beets, potatoes, and radishes at just about any time of the year in Oregon.

More seasonal favorites include:

  • Asparagus: March – May
  • Garlic Scapes: April-May
  • Berries: June – September
  • Green Beans: June – September
  • Tomatoes, Tomatillos, Hot and Sweet Peppers: July – September
  • Melons: August – September
  • Figs, Grapes: August – October
  • Persimmons: September – November
  • Winter Squash (like Butternut, Delicata, Pumpkins, Acorn): September – February
